Your Impact Is Felt,Okoh Applauds BPE’s Servicome Unit

Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr. Alex A. Okoh has lauded the positive impact of the Bureau’s Servicom Unit which led to its recognition  by the SERVICOM Corporate Office and the award to the Unit, a four star (****) ranking following the Parastatal Functionality Evaluation conducted in November 2019.

Okoh who sated this at the SERVICOM Day Symposium held in Abuja on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 with the theme: Teamwork for Enhanced Productivity in the Workplace said that the Unit was key in driving the Bureau’s Service Delivery Initiatives.

Noting that the theme for the symposium was apt and in tandem with one of the core values of the Bureau, he maintained that each member of staff is required to embrace the principles of teamwork in the discharge of responsibilities, adding that the advantages of teamwork were enormous.

In her presentation, the SERVICOM Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mrs.  Nnenna Akajemeli explained that team building is a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations and define roles within teams, often involving collaborative tasks.

She implored the BPE Management to always identify and motivate individual employees to form teams that stay together and work together to promote a competitive economy and enfranchising Nigerians.

While thanking the Bureau’s Director General for hosting this year’s SERVICOM Day, she expressed the hope that at the end of the event, participants would be able to:

  • Understand what a  team is;
  • Define the concept of team building, and
  • Know how team work enhances productivity.

In her remarks, the Head of the Bureau’s SERVICOM Unit, Mrs. Martina Omojola said the Unit is the Panacea for ineffectiveness and corruption in organisations.

She thanked the Director General for supporting the SERVICOM Unit to achieve the purpose for which it was set up and; urged the Bureau’s staff to continue exhibiting the core values which the Bureau was known for. She called for mentorship by the older staff for the younger ones so that they would not be deviant.
